I have always carried a pocketknife but find myself needing basic tools that a blade cannot provide. I switched over to a multi-tool for a few years and it worked great but was bulky and I found myself really every using the knife, pliers, and screwdriver. I recently switched over to the Leatherman K2 and Knipex mini pliers and it has been a profound change.
