
Vandalism – How to prevent when property is vacant When you are selling a property either residential or commercial the longer it stays on the market vacant the greater the chance it may be vandalized. A few tips to help reduce the risks:
1. Keep the electricity on and have a few lights on timers that go on and off throughout the day and night. In addition install motion sensor lights on the exterior of the property in areas of entry/access
2. Keep the exterior landscaping maintained
3. Visit the property on a regular basis and during different times of the day and week
4. If any vandalism occurs, alert the local authorities and make the repairs quickly
